Free Speech Confusion

Some people just don't understand the point of free speech. Some yutz decided to physically assault a guy who was heckling Dean, democratic presidential contender. Said the intrepid defender of our rights:

"I'm neutral in this race but I'm for freedom of speech, which means people should be able to assemble and speak without being shouted down."

Wrong. People have the right to assemble and speak, thats for sure, but that does not mean they have the right not to be shouted down. If you want to keep outsiders away, rent a private venue. Otherwise, hecklers have free speech rights that are just as valid as those of anyone else.
